AN EXHIBITION IN FAMILY CLUB

Almaty 01.11.04

"Hostess" program under the leadership of Lubov Koretskaya is one of the favorite programs of "Shalom" Family club. Its ideas and projects have an unusual approach. More and more often all members of the community take an active part in meetings held by the program members.

This time "Hostess" program meeting was devoted to masters-designers. The program members organized an exhibition of non-professional knitters' works.

Thus, Zinaida Bentzion, a physician and one of the oldest members of the club demonstrated several models of clothes she made by herself: coats, cardigans, suits and jumpers. The woman started to knit since her young age. With each passing year she adds new clothes to the collection of articles knitted for herself and her family members. Works of Zinaida Prokofievna are different in style and color. Guests of the exhibition had an honor of trying on clothes from Benetzion and walk along the ad lib podium.

A love to knitting turned out to be so strong that today knitting is a hobby of her daughter Olga Butenko, a teacher of English. Participants of the meeting had a chance to see an elegant jumper on Olga knitted with her own arms.

One more member of that family is Sofiya Vladimirovna Onishenko, a pupil of Zinaida Prokofievna, an engineer-economist. She demonstrated a suit, a dress and a coat.

Collections of knitted children's clothes were showed by Natalya Zvonareva and Tatyana Kaukina.

Participants of the exhibition-show were interested in everything: how to select properly a wool for this or that cloth, what color to choose. And every question, request and opinion found a feedback in our knitters.
