"Mitsva" Association, Hesed "Polina", and "Rimon"
JCC have presented a mourning meeting in memory of the Jews murdered during
Holocaust.
The ceremony took place in the Hesed hall. "Mitsva"
President Alexandr Baron, Hesed "Polina" director Natalya Dorman,
and "Rimon" JCC director Alexandra Zykina spoke before the audience.
Rabbi Elhanan Kohen said the mourning prayer.
Meetingparticipants agreed that knowledge of Holocaust helps
modern people to appreciate freedom and prevent conflicts.
The elders of the community, who survived through Ghettos
and concentration camps, lit up the candles. The ceremony finished with
one minute silence.
The Holocaust Remembrance Day activities will last in Almaty
till the weekend.
