  The
volunteer of the Republican Jewish Library Lubov Koretskaya has presented
a lecture-discussion of Konstantin Kapitonov's book "Israel
through Its People".
The book includes biographic sketches of the Israel outstanding
political figures and public leaders. The Day Center participants listened
to the stories of two legendary people: Naftali Hertz Imber - the
author of "Hatikva" and Josef Trumpeldor - one of the first
organizers of agricultural settlements in Palestine, who died while defending
Tel Hai village.
 Biographies
of the contemporary Israel politicians were also of interest for the Day
Center clients, especially the story of Beni Begin, Menahem Begin. At
the end of the lecture they lively shared their impressions and opinions.
The Day Center thanks the Almaty Jewish Library and looks
forward to new guests.
