 Historical
club of Astana community center held an unusual meeting in the framework
of Jewish Book Festival. Mihail Kreitchman, a club leader presented
several recently published books before the participants - "Jews
of Eurasia", "Jews and Kazakhstan", "History of
Jewish nation". History lovers heard life stories about their ancestors.
Facts from the books initiated vivid d iscussion
and started a new direction of work of Astana historical club.
Further community members and JCC guests were invited to
a literary evening devoted to Iosif Brodskiy. The evening was conducted
by Nina Levina, a volunteer of Jewish Republican library city filial.
Nina told all the comers about life of the great writer and about his
works, she also read extracts from his works. The auditorium was listening
to her very attentively and then burst into applause.
Jewish Book Community Festival invites citizens and guests
of Astana to new meetings with history, culture and Tradition of Jewish
nation.
