Video salon of Astana community center opened its doors for the first time in 2005. To the attention of community members and JCC friends was offered a famous film of Roman Polanskiy "Pianist".

   "Pianist" is a real phenomenon of modern cinema industry. First of all it was awarded 7 golden statuettes "Sezar" - for best production, music to the movie, actor's and cameraman's skills and for a wonderful work of sound producer and decorator. Secondly, the film is based on the events, too familiar to the film director. During the war Polanskiy experienced ghetto life in Krakow, where his family died. Roman was lucky to stay alive.

  "Film "Pianist" is not just one of the films about Holocaust", Polyanskiy told during one of the interviews. "It's a story about the survival, a very optimistic story about the way art saved a man".

  Video salon members with great interest shared their impressions about the film.
