 Various
interests of the modern youth are reflected in the Karaganda JCC "Shatil"
youth club's activities. The teenagers take part in holiday preparation
and celebration, official and unofficial events. JCC clubs and studios
help them to represent the community well.
 The
youth is beginning to understand the essence of the Jewish Tradition.
Under the guidance of Alexander Abramovitch they have started studying
the Torah books. At the same time they are getting acquainted with rabbi
Shneur Zalman's book "Laws of Studying the Torah".
 Recently
"Shatil" members have visited Astana. The first place to attend
was a synagogue. They met with Astana rabbi and discussed the Jewish Tradition's
renewal.
Then the teenagers visited the oceanarium and President's
cultural center. In the afternoon they made a tour of the city. In about
two hours the youth saw the "new city", synagogue under construction,
ice city etc.
