OFEK finished its work in "Shemesh" Jewish community center.
Its last activity became A game in the intellectual club "Bikurim".
Children, attending Children's art center prepared to the game under the
leadership of a librarian Larisa Brodskaya. The game was held in a hall
of a Miner's Palace. There were children from the JCC, their parents;
"Shatil" youth club members and several families from Temirtau.
4 teams including representatives of all generations of the
community took part in the game. Judges were also represented by old people,
middle-age people, youth and children.
Major questions, set by the teams, were connected with the
world and Jewish culture, as well as knowledge of the Tradition and history
of Israel.
Intervals between rounds were filled with musical and dance performances.
After the results of the game were declared, the winners
were awarded with prizes, and was held a short photo-session "OFEK-2004
says good-bye to Karaganda".
But the best present was awaited by "Shemesh" JCC
members and old generation of the community at the very end of the evning:
"We understood that to become an intellectual, a
broad-minded person, one should read a lot and go to the library!" - such
a conclusion was made by the children from the children's art center.
