 Library
literature club has invited the Hesed "Natan" clients and friends
to the meeting devoted to Golda Meir. The volunteer of Kostanay Jewish
library P. Kravchunskaya told them, that one of the XX century's most
famous women was born in Kiev in 1898. Her father Moshe Yitzhak Mabovitch
was a carpenter. In 1903 they moved to a Byelorussian town Pinsk. Then
the father of the future Israel prime-minister emigrated to America and
in three years his wife and children joined him.
As Gold Mabovitch graduated from school, she entered the international
Zionistic organization Poalei Zion. In 1921 she moved to Palestine along
with her husband Moris Meyerson, sister Sheina and her children. It was
then that her career started.

The library literature club concluded with a film about Golda
Meir's life. The community members were proud for the woman who left a
trace in the Jewish history. The Kokshetau Jewish library thanks the Hesed
"Natan" for kind assistance in the meeting arrangement.
