 Kokshetau
branch of the Republican Jewish Library has presented a soiree devoted
to the book "Letopis Gorkih Let" ("Bitter Years Chronicle").
One of its chapters was devoted to life of a poet Ruth Tamarina.
She was subjected to repression in 1948 and exiled to Kazakhstan. She
spent eight years in a concentration camp, but did not give up, and described
those hard years in her poetry.
When talking about Ruth Tamarina one can not neglect her
books. The soiree presenter read out some poems from her collections "Zhizn
Obychanya" ("Regular Life"), "Nadeshda" ("Hope"),
"Vremya Dobryh Ludey" ("Kind People's Time") and others.
Not only Kokshetau community members took part in the meeting,
but also other citizens, who have long become habitues of literary soirees.
