Jewish Book Community Festival-2004 started its work in Kokshetau. A solemn ceremony was held in National Art Palace. Among honored OFEK guests were representatives of national Cultural Centers of Kazakhstan, Regional Informational Management, Internal policy Management and Department of Culture of city akimat.

   The meeting was conducted by Anatoliy Itkin, a director of Hesed "Nathan". He thanked all the comers for their attention and interest towards culture of Jewish people and then he called the attention of the guests to a short concert, prepared by members of Kokshetau community center. "Anahnu" youth club and children's art center performed songs in Hebrew and children - "Etgar" program members recited poems of Jewish authors.

  At the end of the meeting Lidiya Nyashina, a leader of Jewish Republican library filial in Kokshetau held a presentation of book exhibition, prepared by library workers and volunteers. Books on Jewish studies, history and culture of Jews were put on stands.
