  Discussion
on the topic of synagogue was held in the Hesed "Natan". The
JCC director Valentina Zelenkovskaya told about the history, functions,
and structure of a synagogue. From her lecture the community learnt that
there are three obligatory attributes: aron kodesh, in which the Torah
is stored; bima, where the Torah is read; amud, the place for shaliah
tsibur who leads a prayer.
Then the religious program coordinator Vladimir Marufenin
read the weekly Torah chapter.
The community members offered new interesting topics for discussion
over a cup of tea. Kokshetau Jews are grateful to the Hesed and JCC for
the opportunity to study the Jewish Tradition.
