children's club of Kostanay community center actively prepares to participation
in a creative contest "The world of my nation", declared by
"Mitsva" Association and "Rimon" Jewish community
center 10 days ago.
Children draw, make applique works of colored paper and natural
materials. Each work is a little world, a world of child's fantasy. In
their crafts children uncover their feelings and thoughts to everyone,
tell about their problems.
"It was very interesting for me to draw
my thoughts. It turned out that my nation, I mean the way I feel it, is
better to draw in blue color. It is like summer sky!", 8-years
old Yulya Smolina says.
We remind that children form the Jewish community of Kazakhstan
can also take part in the contest. And one of the following themes should
be reflected in the work:
- As I understand the role of Jews in the history of Kazakhstan or the
whole world.
- Relations between Jews and other nations (at present, in the past,
in the future). Mutual understanding and misunderstanding, mutual help
and conflicts …
- Bright, distinguished features of my nation (what differs Jews from
other nations; for example, a typical portrait of its representative).
- Jewish customs, Tradition and holidays
(one of them or something typical for all holidays, all customs).
- Historical trials of my nation: the way they reflected on people (on
my relatives etc). From coming form Egypt till our days - any historical
events.
- An idea of my nation from the point of view of an art. How can one
imagine the general image of the Jewish nation?
- My nation - in Israel and other countries. What is Motherland for
us?
- I'm a representative of my nation.
Works can be made in any techniques: watercolor, oil, graphics,
appliqu? work etc. The works should be accompanied with an explanatory note
containing author's data: family name, name, date of birth, city, name of
the work, techniques, your home (or organization's) contact phone number.
Works should be done in format A4-A3 and put into frames or paper mat.
Contest winners will be given diplomas and prizes. Best works
will be published in publications of exhibition organizers and take part
in an exhibition "The world of my nation" that is to be held from
January 22 till February 15, 2005.
Works will be accepted till January 20, 2005.
