 Thanks
to a documentary shot by "Aviv" Jewish center in small town
of Taldykorgan and broadcasted on the local TV, about 15 people came to
the community during a fortnight. They had not known about a Jewish organization
in their region before.
It was like that. After the broadcast the "Aviv"
phone was ringing without stop.
 "Hello!
It was so nice to know that you are there. My mother is a Jew, can I be
your member?"
"You are welcome!"
 Most
calls came from Ush-Tobe, a small town with many Jewish families.
Thanks to "Davar" newspaper, "Aviv" center, and the
Republican Jewish library all of them have an opportunity to become a
part of a big family - "Mitsva" Association.
Hanukah 5764 was the first Jewish holiday in their life. The
Jews of Taldykorgan did their best to create unforgettable impressions.
Religious program coordinator Alexander Matushkin told the guests about
the Torah and history of Hanukah, and then said the blessing over lighting
Hanukah candles.
Thanks to the efforts of "Aviv" center 15 more people
celebrated Hanukah this year.
