  In
their search after wellbeing many parents can not devote much time to
their children. And so the children are brought up by television and computer
games.
I am a member of the parents' committee, and the statistics on school
results and attendance strikes me me. Is it because of the children's
intellectual potential decrease or parents' indifference? I have worked
with children in the Pavlodar JCC and Hesed "Rachel" for several
years, and I know that every child is a secret box full of life, energy
and desire for self-expression. And it means that it is about us, adults!
  That
is why we open a Children's Day Center in the Pavlodar JCC hoping that
it will become a place for them to learn kindness, justice, and mercy.
And now in their free time the children hurry not to a TV-set, but to
our Day Center. We hope that they will find support and understanding
in the community. Maybe it will bring some warmth, cosiness, and joy in
the world.
