Volunteering
is an integral part of Jewish community. Volunteers are always ready to
respond and help the needy, demanding nothing in return. In our turn we
will try to thank them, like they did in the Kostanay Hesed:
Volunteers are very busy. Some of them assist in the Hesed
- meeting guests, answering the phone, registering new books in the library,
others contact lonely clients by phone to let them know they are not forgotten.
And finally the volunteers had a chance to have rest and
feel cared for. The Kostanay Hesed presented Volunteer's Day. Free-will
assistants received certificates and small gifts. Their eyes sparkled
with tears.
"Never mind," they said when the Hesed staff looked
worried. "It's just so important for us to feel needed".
Now the volunteers have no time for feeling ill or lonely.
They are awaited, remembered, needed! Thank you, our unselfish assistants.
