Holiday celebrations, devoted to the Jewish Book Community Festival are going on in Pavlodar. A new meeting of Kazakhstani people with culture and Tradition of Jews was held in the Hesed "Rachel" literary hall.

  "Looking through pages of the Past", such name was given to the evening by Hana Lobchenko, a mistress of literary saloon. The participants were talking about Lev Matseilik, a front-line soldier and Hana Meerovna's tutor. His life, which is described in his diaries, is an example of firmness, moral fortitude, and skill to be a reliable and faithful friend:

   "A new boarding school №1 was opened in 1959 in Pavlodar", Hana Lobchenko started to speak. "Up to 1963 its director was Lev Matseilik - an experienced leader, a wonderful teacher, modest and tactful person. From his diary we can learn that his life wasn't an easy one. A hungry childhood, a hard youth. Since 1942 till the end of the war Lev Mihailovitch made a long way from Stalingrad to Pshelyau port. He was demobilized, in 1946 came to Pavlodar and till 1959 he changed several places of work. But he has always been an honest person, a man of principle".
