A
lecture about extracts from the "Shmot" Ipuwer Papyrus was presented
in the Hesed "Rachel" today. The meeting was prepared and conducted
by the religious program coordinator Oleg Bykovsky. The Hesed clients
and JCC club members came to listen to the interesting story.
Oleg
Bukovsky told the audience that "Shmot" or "Exodus"
is devoted to the Jews' escape from Egypt. The Ipuwer Papyrus is a chronicle
of ten plagues of Egypt. The Leiden museum of the Netherlands purchased
the Papyrus in 1828.
Pavlodar Jews are grateful to the "Mitsva" Association
for the offered opportunity to study the Jewish Tradition.
