lecture-discussion "Holidays of the Month" was presented by
the JCC director Irina Tveritneva to the Homecare staff.
One of the special holidays of the Jewish calendar is Holocaust
Remembrance Day. Irina reminded the Homecare staff that their clients
often were people, who had survived through Ghettos and concentration
camps, and who would never forget that time.
The second holiday she told about was Israel Independence
Day. Homecare staff remembered the Israel Independence War 1948-1949,
and revered the memory of the deceased with one minute silence.
Both topics were exciting and interesting for the nurses.
And now visiting their clients they will look at them anew, finding a
trace of the great Jewish past in old people's eyes.
