Jewish community in Petropavlovsk held Chanukah holiday. According to the tradition the holiday was opened by Svetlana Makarovskaya, Hesed "Efraim" director and Mark Vitkin, a Chairman of National Cultural Center.

   A ceremony of candle lightning was made by one of the old people of the community Ruzya Lvovitch Linkov.

   And of course there was a holiday concert program. As always the community members were gladden with a performance of "Shalom" and "Hatikoth" vocal groups and wonderful Chanukah songs.

  The highlight of the program was a debut of puppet theatre's play "Saturday dress for Hanele". Little artists were very excited, but the play was very interesting and though the hall was overcrowded with people, there was a full silence and the artists were given a storm of applause.
