Recently
Semipalatinsk Jewish community members were listening to a brilliant lecture
of Anna Sailyantz, an Almaty art expert and a teacher in the JCC "Rimon".
A meeting was held in Hesed hall. A story of the guest was devoted to
Mark Shagal - a great artist of the XX century.
Four generations of the community came to a meeting with
a favorite person of Kazakhstani children and their parents. The listeners
learnt about the whole life of the author of famous stained glass windows
of synagogue attached to the Adassa hospital in Jerusalem and tapestries
created for building of Israeli Knesset, a life of an artist born in Vitebsk
and died almost 100 years later in France.
100-year life of Shagal fell at the most tragical and intense
period of human history that included two World Wars, Revolution and Holocaust
taken lives of 6 million of Jews. Childhood of a young artist, his creative
searches, faithful love to his wife Bella and migration - all these Anna
Saulyantz told emotionally and touchy.
At the end of the meeting, Jews from Semipalatinsk watched
a movie devoted to Mark Shagala.
