A 12th Kazakhstani Hesed filial has started its work in Semipalatinsk.

   Everything began with the appearing of Hesed on Wheels (Hesed "Faina") in the city. Since then the Jewish community of Semipalatinsk takes part in all activities, organized by the Jewish organizations of our republic.

   On welcoming the activity of Jews from Semipalatinsk, in the past year "Mitsva" Association opened Jewish library and Food program in the city. For establishing a new kitchen it used the experience of such programs in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Elena Levina, a JCC director of the city, came there to share her experience with people of Semipalatinsk.

   In 12 months a number of clients increased from 17 to 123. Programs for Children and Youth have started their work. There was created a Children's Ecological Movement.

   The Jewish community of Semipalatinsk expresses its gratitude to "Mitsva" Association for help and support. "Mitsva" Association in its turn, wishes success and prosperity to the new Hesed.
