Seminar-training
for "Home care" service workers from Southern Kazakhstan was
held in Shimkent. The seminar attended 16 female workers and 1 male worker
of home care service - Anatoliy Kolupanov (Aris city).
Aim of the seminar:
-To renew knowledge of the workers that have already took
part in seminars and have an experience of work in that service;
- To teach untrained workers to decide practical tasks, arising
in the process of work with clients.
The seminar was conducted by Almaty Hesed workers: Natalya
Dmitrieva (Hesed "Polina" director); Valentina Sokolova ("Home
care" service leader); Tatyana Chernienko ("Home care"
service instructor).
Natalya Dmitrieva is a professional psychologist. Almost
the whole first day of the seminar was given for her lectures and trainings
as knowing psychology of clients, ability to behave oneself proper in
different situations and to protect oneself from psychological overload
has a great importance in service work.
Next two working days were devoted to theoretical discussions
and trainings.
It was the first time when seminar-training included theoretical
classes on a work with clients, experienced heart attacks and a training
aiming at the development of hand motor activity of clients with speech
disturbance.
Beside professional classes, for seminar participants was
organized a lecture - discussion about Chanukah. Elena Udaltsova,
a director of Shimkent community center became a lecturer.
For fixing knowledge that people got while at seminar, we
plan to hold a post seminar.

Almaty has a good experience in holding seminars - trainings
and choosing subjects for it. Nevertheless each time participants offer
new subjects. It means that program of such seminars will have some amendments
in accordance with needs of this or that region of Kazakhstan.
We can't help saying thanks once more to Ruth Averbuh (a
JDC coordinator in her past). Due to the professional library she has,
now we have a possibility to prepare and conduct seminar-trainings.
