A concert of Jewish music was held in a House of Friendship. Hesed "Shimon", a Jewish welfare organization became an organizer of the event. Among guests there were friends of Shymkent Jewish community and representatives of national cultural centers of the region.

   For about an hour and a half one could listen both to musical compositions famous among Kazakhstani people and melodies that are rarely performed for non Jewish auditorium.

  The second part of the meeting was devoted to works of the Jewish poets. Listeners could enjoy poems of Margarita Aliger and Ilya Selvinskiy, recited by Jewish library volunteers.
