A
book exhibition, devoted to the Independence Day of Kazakhstan was held
in Taldikorgan in a library named after Mayakovskiy. That was not the
first experience of city administration's work with mobile libraries of
national cultural centers of the region.
The participants came from various parts of the region. The
Jewish community was represented by "Aviv" Welfare Cultural
center. Workers and volunteers of the center draw the attention of citizens
to books on the Jewish Tradition, religion, culture and history.
A special place in the exposition was given to a two-volume
edition of Aleksandr Mashkevitch "Jews and Kazakhstan". Aleksandr
Matushkin, a religious and community program coordinator briefly described
contents of the books.
A wonderful addition to the exhibition was a performance
of children's groups. Young generation of Taldikorgan Jewish community
sang a number of songs in Hebrew and staged a play "Saturday meeting".
