 The
Taraz Hesed library literature club has gathered people of different ages
and professions, but equally interested in the Jewish history. The topic
for discussion was life and works by Felix Mendelson Bartholdi.
Felix Mendelson Bartholdi was a composer. He began playing
the piano and violin and composing music in his early childhood. In 17
he composed an overture to Shakespeare's comedy "Midsummer Night's
Dream". In 20 he was already an author of four operas. He appeared
on stage as a pianist, conductor, and composer. On his initiative the
first conservatory in Germany was opened in 1843.
