To revere the memory of six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust,
children, their parents and grandparents came to the Hesed Taraz. The
meeting began with the story of the dreadful events that happened during
WWII, and the way Israelis commemorate them - with lowering
the flags to half-mast and stopping transport to the sounds of a siren.
Then children read out extracts from memoirs of the Jews
who survived through evacua-tion, capture, and concentration camps. They
spoke on behalf of the children their age, who shared their parents' destiny
during Holocaust. It can not be forgotten.
At the end of the meeting the community members were shown
a movie "Pianist" about the horrors of WWII.
