Today, on the very eve of Chanukah, Jewish community of Kazakhstan learnt a wonderful news. Jewish Theatre form eastern kazakhstani city Ust-Kamenogorsk became a prize winner in a contest "Golden Chanukiah - 2004".

   A certificate of laureate was also given to Olga Hlavnovitch, a theatre player. And Natlya Polyanskaya, a cabaret singer famous in eastern Kazakhstan was given a special prize and a title "Festival Grand prize". Now the winners in Ust-Kamenogorsk are preparing to their performance in a holiday concert devoted to Chanukah and a trip to Berlin where on December 16 would be held a service of certificates and prizes.

  According to critics "Exactly the play written by Vladimir Lebedev, an Ust-Kamenogorsk Hesed leader, together with Igor Shpritz,a famous playwriter from Snt. Petersburg attracted the attention of "Golden Chanukiah" contest judges to Kazakhstani people".
