Victor
Raisman is geophysicist, a candidate of technical sciences. He has traveled
all around the former Soviet Union. Victor's favorite hobby is music.
For already 25 years he has played the guitar.
Victor composes music for the poems he likes. And we must
say that he as a wonderful taste. That he proved on his personal concert,
organized by "Rimon" community center. The singer's repertoire
contains songs about war written by Yuriy Vizbor, Aleksandr Gorodnitskiy
and Michail Matusovskiy.
"How touchy the words of these songs do sound",
says Evgeniya Kariyakina, a director of the Jewish Republican Library.
"It's hard to believe that in the times of the Great Patriotic War
Victor was just a teenager, that war is just a recollection of what he
had read".
Further the auditorium heard songs written by Aleksandr Galitch
"Getting asleep and waking up", by Bulat Okudzhava "Music
of our souls becomes more and more silent", by Rasul Gamzatov "My
years" and by Yuriy Vizbor "Let's say good-bye to each other,
my friends".
The listeners especially liked one more song… Victor Raisman
doesn't write poems, but when together with his colleges he was in Spitaka,
when he saw those people that survived in the earthquake, when he had
to meet the New Year not together with his family, but in Armenia, he
suddenly composed not only music but poem as well. So the name of the
song is "New Year's".
Spectators - admired and touched - didn't want to let him
go.
