The Jewish dance seminar was held in Kiev on June 23 to 26. Representatives of the FSU Jewish communities traveled to the capital of Ukraine to learn to dance from the leading Israel teachers. The Jewish community of Kazakhstan was represented by a young talented leader of "Ivri Nefesh" dance club Danelya Spitsina (Almaty).
"It was so fine!" Danelya shared. "Guys from different countries came to the seminar and we were dancing all day long".
Each of the seminar participants had an opportunity to demonstrate his or her skill. None of them was disregarded. Among the choreographers who with each guy was Raya Spivak from Israel.
The seminar atmosphere promoted communication between the participants. They prepared complicated dancing turns to demonstrate them at the final concert. In spite of the exhausting training none of the participants missed any master class.
It is noteworthy that the seminar participants and their teachers had no language barrie - they spoke dance language. The seminar program also included the discussion of professional dancing suits, acting technique, and teaching methods. Besides, each of the participants had a chance to manage his own dance, that is to act both as a choreographer and performer.
The seminar served as an impulse for further professional development.
"It was there that I realized that I couldn't make no headway" Danelya said. "I need to go further, otherwise it's getting so boring".
The seminar participants returned home with lots of new ideas. Let us hope some of them will be realized.
