 Arkady Plotkin has 4 grandsons. It were right they who insisted their grandfather to come to Jewish Community Center "Rimon", first time. It was year 2000. Since that time Arkady is one of the most active volunteers of Hesed "Polina".
Every Tuesday he comes to Hesed: he is on duty near the doors, helps in a library and if it’s necessary he would sharpen knifes for kitchen.
Arkady was born in Gomel, Belorussia. But so as his farther has been a military man their family removed often.
The war found the Plotkin’s family when they have come to Gomel second time. Because of strong moving of Germans to east they had to evacuate urgently. Arkady with his mother, aunt and 3 her children appeared in Ashgabat. Then their family removed in a small town in the lower of Syrdariya River. From that place Arkady a boy of seventeen had been taken to the front.
 Right to the military science Arkady Plotkin devoted all his life. He was serving from 1943 till 1998. And so as Almaty has been his last place of service he stayed here having retired on a pension.
Arkady has two sons. The elder one he has followed in his father’s footsteps and became professional military man. His grandsons are serving in an Israeli army.
As you can see Arkady is very all-rounder man, who used to live for other’s sake, to help those people who are in difficulty now. Right these specialties made him to become Hesed’s volunteer. And not so long ago Arkady has proved his unordinary once again, he took part in a game "Experts" and helped "Family club" team to win super prize.
