The words of this children song automatically occur when unexpected holiday, Birthday of the club, is celebrated.

 Sharp a year ago, a club was organized in Almaty in Hesed “Polina”. Group of enthusiasts - volunteers of not a young age, set themselves a task to support lonely aged people, which are in need of simple humane communication. Possibly it is the main point that old men are lack of.

  That is why we decided that our club can help the old men, to avoid loneliness. Governing of Hesed “Polina” supported us and club was created. Board of the club arranges activities for quarter and discuss plan on the meetings of the club. The title was funny “Retro Sem Sorok”. “Retro” - because everybody is old men, and “Sem Sorok” symbolize the tendency to create funny mood for our members.

  The year has passed and we decided to celebrate our holiday. We were preparing long and thoroughly. We wrote rhymes and wishes for each member of the club. We became friends during the year and know much about each other’s life. We were glad as children for these cards with self-made but written from the heart rhymes. Very successful was the issue “New in medicine”. Recommendations were funny and kind. It was worthy to see the eyes of our old women, when they set at the beautifully laid table, drank “Lekhaim” for great holiday coming New Year 5766 - Rosh-ha-Shana and for our little holiday of the club birthday. They danced, sang, and enjoyed themselves with pleasure!

  Holiday appeared funny and joyful. As to any birthday dear guests came to us: “Mitsva” Association President, Alexandr Baron, Hesed “Polina” director, Natalya Dorman, Republican Jewish library director, Karyakina Eugenia, and coordinator of club programs, Galina Lipker, they wished to our club further success in the work, and to members wished health and longevity. Of course we could not to joy so much and communicate without support of Hesed leadership. All members of the club marked it.

  This wonderful activity will be kept in members’ memory of “Retro Ladies” for a long time!
