Annually, eight years running, Community Festival of Jewish Book is conducted in Almaty. This year festival will be located under the roof of "House of Friendship". The program is meant for two days - 6th and 8th of November, which will be devoted to the books only.

By the tradition festival will be opened by President of “Mitsva” Association, Alexandr Baron. Probably, the ambassador of Israel in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzia Michael Lotem, Vice-chairman of Assembly of Nations in Kazakhstan, Sergey Tereshenko, will attend the festival.

Children’s vocal ensemble “Koktem” was invited to opening, they will perform songs in Hebrew. Then will be conducted the exhibition of the new Jewish books of 2004-2005 year published. Besides there will be performed photo exhibition "So we work", on the CFJB, about continuous work of Republican Jewish Library.

Also on the first day of CFJB will be conducted the presentation of book created by children from JCC "Children Torah in pictures". After that will be presentation of Isaac Grinberg’s book "Jews in Almaty". Here the conversation will be about book creation history, and main characters of the book. Characters of the book will attend the presentation obligatory, they will have a word.
The second day - on 8th of November - also will be conducted in the round hall of "House of Friendship" (Almaty). The events of the second day would be more official, as writers participated in the opening of CFJB -2005 will sit at the table. Authors, who wrote, published books in 2004-2005. Among famous Kazakhstan Jewish writers is Adolph Artzyshevsky, who will tell attendants about his collection of poems, Raff Sokolovsky, Tamara Ilyina, and Leonid Gyrsh. Probably, Michael Zeltzer with his new book "Unprofessional thoughts… splashes of the memory on diary pages" will attend the meeting. At the round table will be discussed such issues as problems of publishing and authorship.
At the end of the second day the solemn closing and holiday concert will take place.
