 "7-40" club is one of the recent programs initiated by "Rimon" JCC. It opened in July 2004, and this means that its birthday is in a week. That is why we would like to tell you about this club today.
The club was initiated by several active women who had a lot of time and passion for life. But since they also had families, club meetings on weekends became inconvenient.
"It's impossible to go out when the whole family is in" one of the club leaders Lubov Polumiskova says.
Moreover, other JDC clubs such as women, family, children, and history clubs meet on weekends. That was how the idea appeared to make a club that would meet on workdays. Now everybody willing to spend some time with interesting people can join "7-40" club.
At the beginning the club included 5 people. Now it has forty participants. It is noteworthy that the club is not restricted to certain subjects. It is more like a service club that helps people to escape loneliness and pass their time in Jewish surrounding.
At the meetings club members share their emotions and recollections. Many of them are well-educated, that is why club program includes lectures on history, culture, and Tradition that are very popular. Club activities allow each of the participants reveal his or her particularity.
 Club members often go outdoors with the help of the community center or by their own efforts.
"Some of us have country houses. That's where we go in the hot summer" Lubov Polumiskova says.
The club gives its members an opportunity to do what they are interested in. Club members visit theaters, cinemas and concerts. They prepare stage performances for every holiday.
