Having prepared to the 60th anniversary of Victory, board of veterans–frontline soldiers of "Mitsva" Association composed a big working plan. The plan also included help and congratulations to the Great
Patriotic war veterans, an organization of a photo stand, a meeting of ghetto and concentration camps detainees and many other things. But there is a point in the pan, about which we can say the following: veterans do not let a
tie of times to be broken. Our veterans decided to hold meetings with youth of the co
munity for discussing the main battles of the Great Patriotic War.
One of the meetings with community youth was held on the day of Kursk battle's anniversary. Exactly this battle is considered to be a turning point in the World War II. A Veteran Board representative, Aron Vinnitskiy, briefly told about the very battle and the role of intelligence in a success of the battle. Roman Slobodnuk - an artillerist, Kursk battle participant - remembered battles. Leonid Girsh, being in a leader of
tank division in Kirsk arc, told young people that it was a very cruel battle.
"A counter tank battle, when tanks burn and explose, there were ven such cases when tanks rammed", recalls the vteran.
Meeting participants started a lively discussion. Lots of things aroused in memory of veterans and children wanted to ask elderly people about a number of things.
Such meetings help young generation to keep in memory a great feat of the whole Soviet Nation that won World War II and Jewish contribution to this.
