Pesch - one of the most important holidays in the Jewish Tradition - is coming up. It is a celebration of miraculous Exodus. "Rimon" Jewish community center and Hesed "Polina" (Almaty) actively prepare to the holiday. It is expected that this year in Pesach celebration only in Almaty will take part more than 500 people: clients, JDC volunteers and city community center club participants. Due to the JDC help a Passover Seder will be held in a Warm House of Galina Auezova, 2 city soup kitchens, at Hesed "Polina". The one Seder - an International Women's Seder was already held.
It is a new custom, it is not written in the Tradition, but it's very important for us, contemporaries. Women's Seder - is a preparation for the Traditional Passover Seder, it's a long discussion devoted to the way from the slavery to freedom, it is a story about woman's role in the life of Jewish community. It is held in different countries at one time - 2 weeks before Pesach. Members of "Ruth" Women's
club under the leadership of Margarita Trofimov , prepared women's Seder and
invited women from "Retro" club and girls from "Noar Hovshi" youth club.

On the table were the same things as during the Traditional Seder. There was a keara and two big beautiful glasses for prophet Iliyagu and prophetess Miriam. 4 questions were asked, and 4 glasses of vine, devoted to 4 women - Jewish foremothers, were drunk. Women observed Seder ceremony and recalled Torah extracts about women's role. At the end a girl form youth club opened a door for a prophet Iliyagu.
Seder 2005 became a stimulus for dynamic actions of women's groups. Women told about the way to a freedom of soul, thoughts and feelings through dynamic actions. What steps on the way from slavery towards freedom can make each of us, our women's group, community, society?
Seder came to an end, but it was left in our memory. Women's Seder united Jewish women from Kazakhstan, Byelorussia, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, USA, Australia, Germany and Israel at one big table of unity and support.
