 The+II meeting of World Congress of Russian Jewry General Assembly is held in Jerusalem.
About 250 delegates from 28 countries take part in the meeting. The Jewish Community of Kazakhstan is represented by Alexandr Baron, the President of the Association of Jewish National Organizations "Mitsva".
The Congress carried out significant work to promote the development of Russian Jewish communities. It arranged a conference called "Journalists Against Terror", presented "Golden Hanukkiah" annual international competition, and launched "The Israeli Bridge in Negev" project - an educational program for Russian Jewish youth from all over the world. Jewish Sunday school network was started in Germany, and celebrations of 60th Anniversary of the WWII Victory were held in Russia, Israel, Germany, and the USA.
The II meeting’s agenda includes the following topics: accept a new WCRJ Charter, affiliate new communities and define a new staff of Congress sections, review the results of main activities and devise long-range planning
