An evening devoted to the memory of Holocaust victims was held in Pavlodar in a regional library named after Sultanmahmud Toraigyrov. There were sounded recollections of those who know the history of those times not from books.
Grigoriy Zaidenvarg still remembers how everyday from morning till night he, half-starved, had to work in a mine when he was in a concentration camp. And every three months he was weighted.
"Those, who very fast lost their weight and energy, were handled without mittens. Stoves of concentration camp didn’t know tiredness!" Grigoriy Zaidenvarg told.
As for Zinoviy Sheining, he spent three terrible years in Buhenvald. He was lucky - a doctor saved him. But every day Zinoviy Savelievitch saw with his own eyes how people with a yellow star on their back disappeared in stoves.
During the whole evening Shvartz’s music "Yellow stars" was sounded in the library. "Mazal" choreographical group of Pavlodar community center performed a composition called "Holocaust". "Nigun" vocal group performed such songs as "Leg G-d give you", "Everything is covered with January snow", "Rain in Vitebsk" and other.
