The official opening of Community Festival of the Jewish Book 2005 took place in Petropavlovsk. The holiday passed in "House of Nation Friendship". The opening visited many guests including representatives of city Akimat, workers of Petropavlovsk libraries, people keen on BOOK.

  Children and adults both were preparing for CFJB – all members of Petropavlovsk Jewish Community. In Hesed were held many rehearsals and chaos prevailed. Hesed was a real Jewish home that time: Culinary club was preparing Jewish cuisine dishes, children’s club held rehearsals, in library volunteers were choosing the books for exhibition.

  The hall was full. On first day two lectures passed successfully - "Famous women of Old Testament" and "world of Art – Lev Baist". Concert program of CFJB included performance of vocal groups (there are 3 of them in Hesed), duet, solo-performers, and also dancing groups.

  The debut of children’s theatre studio "Barvazon" – children of 3-4 years was rather successful. The studio was formatted not so long ago. All members of Jewish Community were worrying for them

  Thanks to Petropavlovsk Akimat assistance vocal groups "Shalom" and "Hatikhot" performed in new costumes on CFJB-2005 opening.

  And on first half of November two more out actions of CFJB are planned. The Festival of a book will travel along the region and visit Korneevka and Timiryazevo settlements. Here live families which have no opportunities to come to Petropavlovsk and participate in community actions. That is why each trip of Hesed workers here is a real gift for them.
