A portback election meeting was held in Petropavlovsk. In the course of that meeting there was elected a new chairman and Board members of city Jewish cultural center. 75 community members took part in the election process. Aleksandr Baron, president of "Mitsva" Association of Jewish National Organizations came to see Almaty community.

  3 community members - Yuriy Evdaev, Oleg Shabaev, Nathan Arbatskiy - pretended to the post of Jewish cultural center director. All three pretenders presented their program before community members and answered questions set by the meeting participants.

  Candidates for Jewish cultural center board members were offered by public. They included 3 pretenders for the post of Jewish cultural center chairman and 4 community members - L.F. Levkovitc, N.I. Michelson, A.N. Abakumova.

  According to the offer from the side of meeting participants, elections of Jewish cultural center chairman were made by a secret vote. Jewish cultural center board members were elected in an open way.

  All candidates, offered to a post of Jewish cultural center members were unanimously accepted by community. Then returning board declared the results of a secret voting. Yuriy Evdaev was appointed to a post of Jewish cultural center chairman by the majority.
