 It’s already the sixth year charitable programs for children, invalids, aged persons work successfully in Hesed of Taraz with the support of "Joint". For example "Homecare" program supposes care after elderly clients and adequate help to them. Medical program, through "Sadykhan" drug store supplies with necessary free drugs all that people, who has a right for medical aid by the doctor’s prescription. Besides here you can get consultative assistance of our doctors - volunteers of different profiles - urologists Grigoriy Skorodok, cardiologist Svetlana Donis and others. Community’s members are supplied with rehabilitation equipment: crutches, canes, stilts, wheelchairs, antibedsore mattresses for temporary usage.
For families of low means, lonely persons, there is a wide food program. Those, who can, come to "Elba" café (everyday beside weekends) for the dinner. For those who cannot serve themselves meal is delivered for home (Meals on Wheels program).
 Also there are such a called family food sets for aged married couples living together, for families having 2 children younger than 7 years old of about equal age and families with children of elder than 7 y.o. age, common food sets for families with invalid or little child, diabetic sets recommended for diabetics. Geography of its spreading by region is rather wide: towns Taraz, Karatau, Zhanatas, Shu, B. Momysh Uly, Politotdel, Merke, Octyabrskoe, Rovnoe, Sarykemer villages, Birlik station, etc.
- What else, besides welfare, Hesed workers are occupied with? - I’m asking the director Helena Dmitrieva.
- We have an interesting cultural program: we celebrate national holidays, conduct different clubs, literary, musical, drawing - rooms, chamber music evenings. There are regular classes of Judaism traditions, to make people to know what the Jewry is. Also we have stationary and movable libraries. Our librarians and professionals of other libraries take part in literary drawing - rooms. We send literature to our companions in regions, after reading we get it back.
 There are children clubs - dance, vocal, traditions and Torah, painting, dramatically in Hesed. The product of their assiduity is watched by their parents with great pleasure in time of performances on holidays. And in summer, such a called, day center is opened for them: first half of a day there are classes, the second one is devoted to excursions, walks. Not so long ago children came back from international festival, being held in Karaganda. There were many nominations, tarazians have taken part in 3: theatrical, instrumental and choreographic. They think that they were on a necessary level, they have brought home memorable diplomas and deeds. In a 3 rich festival days they have become more close friends and found new friends from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Israel. Numerous family dynasties of dancers - Bukharian Jews came from Uzbekistan.

 people’s cuisine leaves its mark. We have "Hostess" club, and there are recipes of Polish, Japanese Jews, and dishes are "The Jewish Cuisine" book. Their dishes are typical for place of their living but they are being cooked only in a Jewish manner.
In sum Jewish community counts more than a 1000 of Jews in a region, among of them are 219 children before 18 years old, 250 clients who have a right for welfare.
 The activity of Hesed is many-sided, but every person coming here supports the common action - if it’s just leisure - watching of new cassettes in our cinema hall, recording the new disks or audiocassettes, or holiday preparation, festival of Jewish book preparation, which is held some days, changing to the holiday of dancing, songs, literature. Also we plan joint programs with "Sokhnut", national cultural center.
- After the trips and communications with others I made a summary that not all the towns may boast of friendly work and living of different Jewish organizations .- Helena Dmitrieva is telling ending the conversation. - We do not compete, do not share the peoples - they are all our common clients of 3 organizations. We have found comprehension - and that is a victory.
