On March 27 Taraz Jewish community celebrated the brightest and the most merry holiday - Purim, that was held in a café at a holiday table.
Of course, there was sounded Jewish music and walls were decorated with colorful posters. And holiday atmosphere was felt by every comer. After a traditional speech, Purimshpil was started from the performance of Hesed and "Sokhnut" children’s groups. Children prepared holiday plays about the historical heroes - Ester, Mordehay, Ahashverosh and Aman- and about the emergence of Purim.
Taraz Jewish community center staged a play, taking the comers to a fairy trip about different countries and times. Further, as a rule, there were songs, dances, quizzes, prize award, money gathering for presents for poor people, there was laughter and wishe
of the best.
The guests were treated with a traditional Purim dish - "Aman’s ears". Everybody was glad to taste those triangle pastries, as Purim is a single opportunity in a year to taste such sweet things. Representatives of Jewish communities of nearby Taraz suburbs also took part in Purim. As Purim is "days of feast and joy", it is no surprise that there was sounded a chorus "Lehaim".
