Rainhard Krumm was born in 1962 in Hamburg. Studied a history and Slavonic studies at universities of Hamburg and Leningrad. In 1991-1994 and 1996-1998 years lived in Moscow and worked as journalist, including in 1996-1998 years - as correspondent for magazine "Shpigel".
