From the history of Jews in Kazakhstan

In Almaty III International scientific conference "Jews in Kazakhstan: a history, religion, culture " passed. In total during a conference 16 reports prepared be the Kazakhstan, Russian Uzbek, Israeli researchers were presented. The basic theme of discussion became a history of the Jews of Kazakhstan in XX century. By preparation of the reports the participants used not published earlier archival materials. The guests of the Conference became: the second secretary of embassy of the state Israel in Kazakhstan Nomi Aldubi,consul of the state Poland in Kazakhstan Medard Maslovsky, Professor Aharon Weiss (Israel). The American Committee "Joint" has helped to make a first step in study of the past of the Jewish community of republic, having supported in 2001 the publication of the book "From history of the Jews in Kazakhstan ". For the majority of the participants of a conference "Jews in Kazakhstan: the history, religion, culture " is a unique opportunity to acquaint a public with results of the done work, to hear opinion of the adherents, to get or share the necessary information.
