 Annually in Kazakhstan Community Festival of Jewish Book is conducted. On August 25 Jewish community of Taraz conducted fifth - anniversary festival - CFJB-2006.
Community Festival of Jewish Book is, first of all, acquaintance to wisdom of the people kept in centuries by the book. Due to a festival, the community receives an opportunity to adjoin to the primary source of the Jewish tradition, to feel itself as a part of the Jewish people.
Now, when we have a real opportunity to help development of cultural life of the Jewish community, the book plays deserved main role.
The small part of fund of Taraz Jewish library submitted on a festival helps better to understand spiritual life of a community these are the books about a history of the Jewish people, religion and Judaism; the various books and brochures about the Jewish Traditions and holidays and, certainly, fiction of the world famous writers and poets.
The basic event of a festival became presentation of Isaac Grinberg's book "Jews of Almaty ". And on a background of this presentation by volunteers of our library (M. Bunin, K. Grinberg, L. Kirshner, V. Grinberg) were prepared the interesting statements about the famous Jews, whose contribution to construction, development of an industry, public health services, education and cultural life of city it is difficult to overestimate.
The workers of children’s-youth library, where we conducted CFJB did not also stand back. The adviser of a department of service, Tatiana, told about the popular Jewish writer Ruvim Fraerman, whose 115-year's anniversary from birthday is celebrated this year. Naturally, the Soviet Jewish poetry was not forgotten which this time was submitted by the collection of verses of Vladimir Lyakhovetsky "Run of life".
Successful "impregnation" of musical numbers (musical play, songs, and dances in performance of our children's creative collective) during realization of a literary composition, made this festival really interesting, anniversary.
 At end of the basic part of a festival the director of Hesed Helena Dmitrieva has presented to children's-youth library 2 volume book of A. Mashkevitch "Jews and world ", and all participants of a festival were marked with the letters and presents. And the final festival song in performance of all participants was last chord of this remarkable measure.
We hope, that this festival of Jewish book will for a long time remain in memory not only of its participants, but also invited, our visitors. See you in new year on CFJB-2007!
