There is something bewitching in light of candles. When light candles, then and on soul it involuntarily becomes lighter and warmer. May be, therefore Chanukah - is one of the most cheerful and favourite holidays. It is a holiday of light and fires. A victory of light over darkness.
Last Sunday the Jewish community of Almaty gathered on a holiday. All Jews of Kazakhstan were congratulated by Ambassador Plenipotentiary of Israel in Kazakhstan Ran Ishaya, head of representation of "Sokhnut" in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan Joseph Lebovitch, the president of "Mitsva" Association Alexandr Baron. Chief Rabbi of Kazakhstan Yeshayah Cogan had lit candles and read a pray.


Children of creative collectives "Simkha", "Shatil", "Anakhnukan", "Yonati" and "Prakhim" long and diligently prepared to Chanukah and, at last, holiday. The concert was by vocal-choreographic composition "Chanukah light" of group "Shatil". The contrast between light clothes, candles and dark cloth represented struggle of goods with evil. As well as it should be, kindness has won. The spectators liked the performance of younger vocal-choreographic group of Jewish Community Center "Prakhim". Small soloist of "Prakhim" Xenia Sorokolit in her 6 years old became already star of a stage. Nastya Ejova and Natasha Tresvyatskaya in duet executed songs "Yesh li otkoah akhshav" - "I have strength", "Ata totakh" - "you are super". Dance of the Latin American Jews and the Jewish dance "Rikut Yeghudi" presented ensemble "Yonati".

With professional game on clarinet pleased the students Dalen Shintemirov.

The spectators had very pleasant impression about a concert, as at exit everybody was treated with Chanukah donuts. But, probably, it is not less than songs and the dances were remembered words of the president of Jewish Educational complex "Gershuni" rabbi Shevakh Zlatopolsky: "Just as light of one small candle wins environmental darkness, as also one small kind business is able to improve this world. In our power to light in soul such fire".
