Our volunteers work on principle - to do Mitsva to the people and this kindness will return hundredfold to you" Those are happy who are generous in all times". Hesed is an age state for our volunteers. Here they find the native house and everything that is necessary for realization of the voluntary opportunities to help the clients, requiring for it.

Volunteer begins with words: "How can I help you?" With these words for the first time Semen Remes came in Hesed. Semen was born in 1939, entered the Leningrad mining-industrial school, and worked in mine, on leaden mine. Six years worked in geology, as foreman of drilling. In 1959 was called up for army, where served for five years. After army without seeing he has graduated from Almaty electro technical school of communication. Then 25 years worked in Almaty airport on service of the equipment for repair of planes.

He loves very much technical work, and he is interested in all novelties in engineering. Semen worked in clinic of the doctor Brant, repaired medical equipment. Having retired on pension, Semen understood that to sit at home without the favourite occupation he can not. In Hesed "Polina" he came on call of soul and heart, with the large desire to help our community. And first question, which he has set to us - "How can I help you?" With the large pleasure he was accepted in amicable family of volunteers. From the bottom of his heart, gratuitously, Semen repairs in Hesed everything that can break. His basic work is repair of tonometers for the clients of Hesed.

He has a lot of such work unfortunately, our clients are in such age, that without this device it would be difficult for them. Our people are very grateful to Semen for those kind businesses that he does for them. This man is reliable always and in all: to unload or to load the car, to carry packages. He found spare parts for repair of tonometers, wrote out and received them. Hesed needed screens and we have told Semen and he honesty has traveled the whole city and found screens. For all this we are grateful to him on behalf of all our clients. Semen is always cheerful, sociable, well sing, reads verses of the own composition, tells jokes. On any measures he is a soul of the company. We would like to have more such volunteers!

His wife Asya Remes is also our volunteer. She calls to the clients of Hesed, each month, congratulating birthday men. From the bottom of her soul she wishes them health, longevity, happiness. It is very pleasant for all clients that Hesed remembers them. Asya is a teacher with the large experience of work.

This family pair has got acquainted in youth lived in one barrack on a neighborhood. When Asya has left to study in institute in Russia, Semen wrote her letters in verses. Soon they have got married. This year it will be 44 years, since they are together.

In the Remes's family there are two children. The daughter Marina lives in Israel brings up five children and following her mother's steps she teaches mathematics at school for the girls from CIS. The son Gennady lives in Almaty, has three sons. Such a rich with grandchildren is this volunteering family.

We have some such volunteering families and we are proud of them and immensely are grateful to them.

Our perfect sanitary technician Eduard Kaukin says: "Hesed is our house, in which we need each other". Eduard was born in 1933 in Poltava. In the summer of 41-st year the city was occupied by Germans. And in 1943 the mother with two sons under duress was taken out in Germany, where she worked as dogbody at textile factory near Dusseldorf city.

They lived at factory in camp, where except for them there were 40-50 young girls and women from Byelorussia and Ukraine. In April, 1945 they were released by the American armies. In October - November of 45-th, after repatriation, their family has returned to Ukraine. Soon his mother with the younger brother had left on North, Eduard remained to live with the grandmother for ever. The life, certainly, was very heavy. In 1947 his grandmother with the grandson removed in Almaty, where Eduard has entered in the fourth class of evening school, as for day school he was already overage juvenile. In fourteen years old has entered in a railway school.

It was a huge simplification for family, as there was a regular meal, and gave out a uniform. After a school him was directed on work in Almaty carload depot, where he and worked for twenty years. Working the mechanic, he has graduated from evening school and then entered the Moscow Polytechnic institute and graduated from 1963. Having begun from the mechanic, then - he was foreman, engineer, and chief of a technological department. Since 1969 to1974 - Eduard was chief of experimental workshops of the Ministry of bread products of KazSSR. Since 1974 - Ministry of highways: a factory of Road signs - main technologist, main engineer, and then director of a factory. Such a way: from the mechanic up to the directors. And his general industrial experience is 55 years.

In Hesed Kaukin came in 1999 and has told, that wants to be a volunteer, as he had huge desire to help the Jewish community. That he can engage in sanitary works to help the people. Now in Hesed Eduard is the irreplaceable man! For these years he has served more than four hundred people. He has to serve the clients in any part of city and always everything is carried out very professionally and high-quality. It is pleasant to our people that Eduard, if he is asked, helps very much to the people and in other home works. We have a lot of lonely clients, which have not enough dialogue with the people. And Eduard is such a man, who can both listen and help. He is the perfect foreman of the business. All our clients idolize him. And in a premise of Hesed "Polina" all cares of the sanitary technician, which there are many, lay on our perfect foreman.

With the wife Tatiana they have got acquainted studying together in the tenth class of evening school. In the Jewish family Kaukin lives for more than fifty years. The wife of Eduard Tatiana is volunteer in family club. She has graduated construction technical school, worked in design institutes, then more than for twenty years - on Kazakh railway.

Their daughter Irina with two children lives in Israel. The son lives in Almaty and has two children.

These people work from all soul for the boon of the Jewish community and Hesed for them is real outlet.

Man creating mercy himself receives satisfaction from the activity and in it sees sense and stimulus of life.
