 It is impossible to imagine Community Center without library. All clubs of Community Center cooperate with library, here pass presentations and musical-poetic saloons, exhibitions of the artists and video - lecture halls. The books give pleasure of knowledge and accustom to culture. "Not without reason our people is called the people of the book ", - told the president of Association "Mitsva" Alexandr Baron, congratulating the community with anniversary of library.
And everything began with a small set of the books, presented by the people leaving in Israel and in other states. Basically these were collections of works of Leon Feikhtvanger, Sholom Aleikhem, Itzhac-Leibush Peres, and also products of the Jewish authors translated from Yiddish. Later, in 1998, the American Jewish Distribution Committee "Joint" presented library more than 100 books from a series "Library "Alia".
 More than 9 thousand books in the central Jewish library of Almaty, 15 open branches, and 40 thousand copies - are those achievements of Republican Jewish library of Kazakhstan for ten years of work. The organization of work of library is constructed on 3 level system: the first level - Central Jewish library in Almaty; second - is regional libraries, which were organized in Astana, Karaganda, Petropavlovsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kokshetau, Kostanay, Shymkent, Uralsk, Taraz, Aktobe, Pavlodar and Semipalatinsk; and third - remote areas and the settlements, in which books are delivered under the program " Library on wheels ".
On festival a lot of warm words was told to address of volunteers: Lubov Koretskaya, Svetlana Nezhinskaya, Ludmila Tokar, Olga Ryzhova, Lubov Polumiskova and others. These enthusiasts not only help at distribution of the books on the subscription, at service of a reading hall, deal with a filing of the newspapers and bookbinding works. They also participate in preparation of exhibition stands, and besides in preparation and realization of literary meetings and presentations of the new books. The Jewish cuisine and humour, ethics and culture, history and art, music - about everything will tell volunteers.
 On community festival came the different people. These were the members of a community and visitors, former employees and journalists (31 channels, Khabar). There were not only indifferent. Played violins, many people congratulated jubileers with verses. The visitor from Israel Joseph Skorbovsky got gift by gift: a badge and arms of his native city Carmiel, hamsa - amulet with a pray, book with the autograph "I live here ". But the best of all about a festival will tell its participants.

" Since the earliest childhood I have remembered one phrase of my father: " you know, Jews are the very clever and talented people ". These words were literally embodied in my memory, and all life I carry acknowledgement, to this people. Also I recollect that the Jews have rendered huge influence on world culture and on the literature. All Soviet children's literature these are such largest names! I always with tenderness recollect Samuel Marshak, Lev Kassil, Anatoly Rybakov, and Jacob Taitz. My first reading began with Jacob Taitz. Now ask somebody from young - they will not name this writer. One of my most favourite books is: "The road passes long way off" by Alexandr Brustein. I generally think that it is the encyclopedia of human life.
It is very pleasant, that now it is such time, when sounds a word "Jewish library ". Everything, that has invented and has thought up mankind now is embodied in the books. And this library brings in feasible contribution to distribution of knowledge about this surprising people ".

"However much libraries we had, this young, ten years' library bears in itself so much new and surprising. Before to get in Hesed and to deal with the newspaper "Davar", I have got the task from our encyclopedia to write a sketch about the Jews. I worked in A&F, had not so much time. What to begin with and where to search for materials? And our remarkable Alexandr Baron by the machine brought to me that time still eight volumes of the "Jewish encyclopedia", issued in Israel. (Now it is already eleven volumes). What is it? It is pleasure of soul, is gladness of life, cognition of that you did not even know about, that it exists!.. A sketch I wrote only in seven or eight months - it was so difficult to choose the most important from ocean of the information.
Two years I leaded "Davar" and these were two years of surprising happiness, surprising pleasure. All this happiness and pleasure began naturally, from library. I think, in general, journalism, as such, as well as a history and other humanitarian disciplines, and technical, can not be held without libraries. And the journalism - so will just stiffen.

Alexandr Baron told that it is one of the best national libraries of Kazakhstan. I would tell more widely, that it is one of the best libraries of republic in general. As the surprisingly beautiful women work here. It is also merit of Alexandr Baron-he can select the staff.

What all of us, such different on character people, attracted in library? Why, having appeared there once, we have remained, and now therefrom we shall not leave? When I had appeared in library, I did not know where to look first because of the names of the books. I understood that the library for me is whole opening. And now we can not even imagine how it was possible earlier to live without it. The library is a dialogue with the readers, dialogue with each other. And I know that Olga Ryzhova is also adhered to library, otherwise she would not be on duty there each week on Thursdays. And Eugenia Genkina, each Friday. We come there as in the native house, to have a rest, instead of to work, though work we also have enough.
