Today with participation of the President of RK Nursultan Nazarbayev on the area of Palace of the peace and consent is open monument of Friendship of the peoples. The high visitors - taking place with visit in Kazakhstan - King of Spain Huan Carlos and Queen Sophia took part in opening ceremony.

"By Day of capital we shall open many new objects, monuments, squares, parks. Among them - is monument of Friendship of the peoples. We always with pride speak about stability, about mutual relation of the citizens of RK. In our country 130 nations and peoples live in the peace and consent", - noted the Head of state. New monument becomes one more confirmation of the public consent, stability and friendship of our peoples.

The authors of the project - are the artist Toleugazy Baygaliyev, architect - Samatbek Tazhenuly and sculptor - Askar Nartov. Volume of financing has made 261,7 mln. tenge. The designer - is LLC "Engineering firm Astana-Saulet". Height of a monument - is 21 meters.

On words of T. Baygaliyev, the last year the international competition on development of the project was announced. The Kazakhstan and Russian experts, including the glorified sculptor Zurab Tzereteli participated in it.

The top part of a monument is presented by 4 sculptures of the women of 4 nationalities holding shanyrak. Four basic nationalities were chosen, whose number in RK exceeds 100 thousand men: Kazakh, Russian, Korean and German. In the middle of a monument are located stylized ears, and below - kerege, which number meets to amount of nationalities and ethnoses, living in Kazakhstan.
