Today in an exhibition hall of Hesed "Polina" club "Retro" together with club "Literary drawing room" conducted meeting devoted to the review of the Russian-Jewish literary almanac "Parallels" # 5-6, 7-8.

The theme of meeting is chosen not casually - organizers wanted to attract attention of the readers in the rich contents of these magazines: publicism, memoirs, poetry and prose, literary criticism, questions of the Jewish history forgotten names …

This time attention of the students was attracted to themes of "Russian intelligency" and of the "Jewish question in the beginning of XX century" (Anti-Semitism, judofilia, asemitism), how the attitude to the Jewish question in Russian society varied, as the discontent by internal policy of authorities grew, and anti-Semitism became state.

With interest the story about Jewish poetess Sophya Pregel (1897-1972) was listened to. This story had never been published. And also detailed research Yurgen Tzaruski about tragical destiny of Vasily Grossman and his novel "Life and destiny". The history with disappearance and find of a picture of Moses Maymon "Marans and Spanish inquisition" is not less interesting detective. The brisk discussion of the students was caused with a history from the collection of folklore legends of the people juguri (mountain Jews) collected by Amaldan Kukkulu "Wisdom of the father"; at which centre are mutual relations of children and old parents. The theme is actual and now. More than hour lasted rough discussion of the chosen themes. The people missed on houses pleased, little bit thoughtful and having taken with them one of magazines.
