November 6 in an exhibition hall of Hesed "Polina" the exhibition of water colours of known Almaty artist, member of Union of the Artists of Kazakhstan Yuri Shneiderman opened. It was already

11th exhibition of the artist spent in Hesed and 141st in life of Yuri Shneiderman.

The youth of Jewish Community Center, having watched an exhibition, wanted to meet the author of works and to ask him questions. Last Friday the meeting was held.

All began from meeting of Shabbat. Nastya Jukova lighted the candles, and Roman Kozeretsky read blessing on wine and bread. After a traditional part Yuri Shneiderman began his story from the biography. His vital way is well described in the book "Revelation or three meetings with Ayvazovsky":

"My way to water colour painting was long and difficult. The childhood was terminated as at once, on one day - June 22, 1941.

War. Evacuation. In 16 years old draft. Front, hospital, military school. And … again front. Then there was a Victory, service in army, demobilization. Study, work at school. … And again - service in army within years of "cold war" (1952-1956years,), and again demobilization, again study, work at a factory, family …

All way - is in thirty words. And behind them - are years. Years, years … difficult, difficult, years of searches, overcoming, grieves and pleasures, years of formation and self-statement ".

In painting began to be seriously interested since 1964, - told Yuri Shneiderman, - something, somewhere in me had woken up, there was a need to draw. I for 30 years was not engaged in painting and suddenly began. … With what rise and inspiration I began anew to do " first " steps in a water colour, with what pleasure took in hands brush …

The youth asked artist many questions both about paints, and about works, and about process of creation.

- I work in water colour, because it is conformable to my character, - shared the foreman, - The water colour needs to be worked on one breath. One of the great artists told: "If the artist wants to achieve heights, he should work in one technique". 44 years I work only in water colour.

At the end of meeting Yuri Shneiderman read to gathered people his verses.
